The National Communication Association is pleased to co-sponsor the 2012 Doctoral Honors Seminar, to be held July 10-13, 2012, on the campus of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Tom Goodnight and Larry Gross of the USC Annenberg School of Communication & Journalism are the hosts for the seminar and the theme of the 2012 seminar is “Communication in Contexts: Disciplinary Inquiry & Social Change.”
Please encourage your doctoral students to apply for the seminar. The Doctoral Honors Seminar is a wonderful opportunity for doctoral students to present their research in a supportive and productive setting where they receive feedback from both their peers and distinguished scholars from USC and the discipline. It’s also a great chance for doctoral students to encounter other young scholars from around the globe who are studying Communication and who are pursuing the same goals and aspirations. Students accepted for the seminar receive a travel stipend and accommodations at the seminar.
Attached to this email are the Call for Submissions and the NCA Doctoral Honors Seminar Application Form. These materials are also available at the NCA Web site: http://www.natcom.org/convention.aspx?id=2135. Feel free to distribute these materials widely. The application form, essay, and letter of support from a sponsoring faculty member are sent to Tom Goodnight at USC (gtg@usc.edu) and are due April 1, 2012.
